“The best thing about memories is making them”
This was the last sentence on Jamie & Ryan’s beautiful greeting cards and it really hit home for me.
As a destination wedding photographer in Cabo, my ultimate goal is to capture what I know will be memories to last a lifetime and translate them into images.
Jamie & Ryan’s destination wedding was flawless. Surrounded by their loved ones, they created a perfect event that was a joy to collaborate on.
From the Bride:
Ryan and I had been dating a little over 7 years before getting engaged, so needless to say we were one of the last couples in our group of friends to get married. Since we had been to several more traditional weddings, we decided we wanted to do something different and looked into a destination wedding. We live in Arizona, so Cabo was an easy choice since it was not only close, but also a beautiful backdrop for our big day.
We decided to have our wedding at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach mainly based on recommendations from friends. The resort looked picturesque in the photos we saw online, and our friends that had visited the resort had wonderful things to say about it. The big deciding factor for us was the resort also offered ceremony sites that were not on the beach, as we didn’t want to do our wedding on the beach. After we booked the venue, we went for a site visit a few months before our wedding to meet with our wedding coordinator at the resort, Marisol Villalobos, and finalize the menu and details. We loved her from the minute we met her, and we knew we were in good hands.
The day of our wedding could not have been more perfect! Thanks to Marisol, no detail was forgotten. She went above and beyond and was very attentive. We kept the décor and colors simple with white and ivory flowers, greenery, and floating votives. We decided not much was needed when you have such a gorgeous destination. We wanted the backdrop to be the focal point. The Bridemaids wore Jenny Yoo dresses in Sweat Pea to add a little pop of color to the day.
Ryan and I are both fortunate that we are close with our families, as well as have friends from all points in our lives. We had 90 of our closest friends and family members join us in Cabo, and we felt the love all weekend. Our guests were in vacation mode and ready to have a fun weekend. The ceremony was held during sunset on the Swan Terrace which boasts stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Immediately following was the reception with cocktails, dinner, and lots of dancing. DJ Roberto played hit after hit and our guests danced the night away. It was quite the party with both the young and old celebrating the night. We had the time of our lives and never wanted the night to end!
I cannot say enough positive things about all our vendors that made the day so special. Sara and Ramon photographed every moment and detail perfectly. The second we saw their galleries online, we were sold and knew we wanted to work with them. They got every shot we wanted with our family and friends. We ended up with so many awesome photos, it was hard to chosse the best ones. Jorge has a true talent when it comes to videography. He made us a beautiful video that captured all the right moments and put them together to help us relive the day all over again. Alma and her glam team at Cabo Makeup did hair and makeup for the bridal party and made sure we were all photo ready and looking our best. They came to the resort, and we had a fun girls day getting ready all together.
Ryan and I are so thankful we chose Cabo as our destination to day “I do”. Having never been to a destination wedding in Mexico, we went in blindly, but were guided through it with our experienced vendors. A big THANK YOU to everyone we worked with that made our day the best day ever!
