“I knew I wanted a destination wedding as soon as I started researching venues and ideas after Stephen and I got engaged. He proposed on the cliffs in Half Moon Bay, so I knew I had to somehow make the wedding location just as beautiful as his proposal. We both grew up in Southern California near beaches, so we knew we wanted to be surrounded by water when we said our “I Dos”.
San Jose del Cabo seemed like the perfect fit because it was incredibly beautiful, warm, and Mexican food….I was sold! I also wanted our closest family and friends to spend a long weekend together celebrating our marriage and really getting quality time to get to know each other.
My husband and I are both introverts, so we really value quality time spent with our closest loved ones. A smaller, more intimate destination wedding was the perfect fit for us! We had around 75 guests who all stayed at the Cabo Surf Hotel with us from Thursday through Sunday. Some of our guests even extended their trip into a longer vacation and enjoyed our beautiful wedding hotel. Everyone loved the accommodations and hospitality provided by Cabo Surf.
It was an incredible wedding and our family and friends are still talking about how much fun they had!
All of our vendors that I personally selected after hours of online research were truly amazing. They worked so hard to make our wedding day so special and stress free. I was really able to enjoy my wedding day and soak it all in.
Sara Richardson and her team captured every special moment of our night, and her photos came back prettier than I could have imagined. Sara also recommended our videographer, Jorge Ibarra, who was also amazing and the our wedding video went above and beyond my expectations. Sara and Jorge worked seamlessly together and made sure to capture all the moments from so many different angles, yet Stephen and I barely noticed them during our ceremony and reception.
A true testament to how professional and talented they both are!
Our ceremony was held on the beach in front of the Cabo Surf Hotel, and our officiant was one of my favorite parts of our wedding. Marco Arechiga was was able to make our ceremony the perfect mix of sentimental moments and hilarious moments that lightened the mood. Our cocktail hour and reception were held up on the grassy area of the hotel with perfect views of the ocean. We danced the night away with help of out guitarist and DJ.
By the end of the night, all of the male guests were dancing shirtless on the dance floor- including my grandpa! It was truly a night to remember and our family and friends had the best time. Stephen and I can’t wait to return to Cabo Surf for many wedding anniversaries to come in the future”.
