A Romantic Flora Farms Wedding
While dating, Nick and Nina vacationed in Cabo and made a trip to Flora Farms. Nina recalls exploring the property with Nick and feeling that it was one of the most special places on earth. It was the first time she actually thought about her future wedding. So much so, she actually called her parents to swoon over this magical place and joke that she’d found her perfect wedding venue. She wanted to have a wedding at Flora Farms! To which they replied was “moot without a groom”. Turns out she had found her groom! And when Nick proposed, Flora Farms was the first place that popped into their minds!
The Wedding Details
The couple wanted a wedding that was reflective of both their personalities, interests and styles. A mutual love for travel made a destination wedding an easy choice. Nick – a surfer, lover of Latin culture and fluent Spanish speaker, and Nina – an ex-event planner with a love of flowers who, fittingly, found a venue that was both perfect in name and the ability to deliver a magical experience for them and their guests. They wanted an organic, effortless, ‘I-woke-up-like-this’ vibe, but utterly chic and with no detail overlooked. They wanted the style to feel warm, inviting and appropriate for a farm setting, but elevated.
Every moment should be photo-worthy, but not contrived or artificial. Every element from the initial Save the Date, to the day-of decor, tied to the venue, setting or offered a nod to Mexican culture. But most importantly, the bride wanted to be able to look back at her wedding album in ten years and not feel like the style looked outdated or passé. They wanted the wedding to still be classically beautiful and timeless.
Flora Farms Wedding Décor
They wanted the table décor to fit within the larger ‘style’ of the wedding. Long wood farm tables were adorned with loose, romantic arrangements of white, blush, pink and red roses, bougainvillea, ranunculus and lisianthus in copper and clay vases. Taper candles with wood bases and cut crystal votives sprinkled amongst the arrangements. The table scape featured unglazed terracotta chargers, ivory linen napkins with crocheted trim and luxe ivory menus with hand-torn edges that doubled as place cards with the guest’s name featured at the top in metallic copper. Copper flatware and blue crystal stemware added the final touches of color and texture.
The escort cards were made with Loteria cards and featured the guest’s name on the front in copper foil and the colorful, illustrated characters on the back. Tables were designated by different Loteria characters.
What was your biggest splurge of the day?
“It’d have to be the venue – but having a wedding at Flora Farms is priceless. I wouldn’t have changed that decision for the world.”
If you could sum up your wedding day in one sentence, how would you describe it?
“It was unforgettable and hands-down the most special day of our lives. The wedding was truly flawless. I feel so fortunate to be able to say that.”
